Windows Anytime Upgrade allows a user to upgrade to a more expensive version of Vista. The user enters the DVD that came with thier copy of Windows Vista, and can start the upgrade process from that DVD, entering the digital key they purchased to allow them to upgrade, pricing for the keys are below.

The program will be available in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.

Manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) to upgrade from a more basic version of Windows Vista are:
Home Basic --> Home Premium: $79
Home Basic --> Ultimate: $199
Home Premium --> Ultimate: $159
Business --> Ultimate: $139

Microsoft have also introduced the Windows Vista Family discount. Buy a retail copy of Windows Vista Ultimate (full or upgrade version), then between 30 January – 30 June order up to two copies of Windows Vista Home Premium online and pay only $49.99 for each copy of Windows Vista Home Premium. This offer is only valid in US and Canada.

Windows Marketplace will also have digital versions of Vista available, I'm guessing at a discouted price? (Otherwise its pretty useless) at this url.

Why these special prices aren't international I'm not sure. I hope this is only in trial phrase, and will be available internationally in a while, otherwise a lot of members will miss out.
