Latest news from Wzor.net! Windows 7 is gold and sign-off, the build tag is 6.1.7600.16385.090713-1255!

Translated contents from Wzor.net by using Google translate:
Quote:
18.07.09 WINDOWS7 AND WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 IS SIGN-OFF GOLD RTM!!!

This morning, Moscow time (in the United States was the evening) signed gold code release to manufacturers Windows 7 RTM:

Even last night (16 hours for MSK 16.07.2009 year), we told you about the preliminary results of a vote on the final "gold code" Windows 7 INTERNATIONAL and wondering what in the vote cast 24 votes against discussing 6.1.7600.16385.090713 build - 1255 and now we see that those votes "against" vote and have now withdrawn the decision taken unanimously, as we have all of you and congratulations.

Latest build also have some other issues, eg. it wont install on a Macbook Air 2th. gen. - i get a error at the end of the installation about "setup is unable to install device drivers for this system" .. yada yada yada.. it reboots and i get the same error again :-(

Wonder if Microsoft is ditching Apple.

It is never intended to be run on apple hardware.
So if it does not fail you are lucky and if it does fail, it just fails, the fault is for the person who installs it onto not supported hardware, not microsoft.

Uhm, I'm sorry, what exactly constitutes "supported hardware"? An Intel CPU and modern technologies, isn't it? You make it seem like it's the brand logo - Apple computers, whether we Apple fans like to admit it, are nothing more than PCs these days. An Apple computer should be 100% supported because it's made out of the same. exact. internals. as every other computers these days.

And weird, every build of Windows 7's installed 100% fine on my MacBook Pro...

I wonder, would a Cyrix, Rise, Centaur, AMD K5 Engineering processor, Transmeta, NexGen, SiS, UMC or VIA CPU work?

Of course, but to be fair to me, Intel made the x86 instruction set. So I'm not completely off here. ;) Plus as stated, Apple only uses Intel CPUs.

What sort of argument is that? Apple doesn't have exclusive parts, everything they use in their machines you can find in a PC. I won't take part in the discussion of whether or not Microsoft should support Apple hardware because it seems to me that Apple hardware is PC hardware. The hardware they use is so common that Apple has to go out of their way to make sure OS X doesn't run on any old PC.

Nice one from Wzor.net! In this RTM craziness it hasn't posted anything reliable except 7600.16384 Server.

Hopefully if it leaks, the leaker isn't on ADSL or already has all the parts uploaded before posting.

Heh, yeah.

I've been searching high and low, from what I can tell, someone Chinese is claiming to be uploading it right now.

Also, I found torrents for 7600.16384 Chinese x86 with English, French, Italian and German MUIs: http://bitsurge.net/files/W7.7600.16384 ... h.MUIs.rar

When this does leak, will it be possible to upgrade from 16384 or will I be stuck doing another fresh install?
