Which date do you think is correct for the final signing of the RTM build of Windows 7?
Wzor's date 57%  57%  [ 16 ]
Winfuture's date 4%  4%  [ 1 ]
Neowin's date 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
I don't believe any of them really know. 39%  39%  [ 11 ]

The latest poorly translated Wzor news, with some very minor modifications. Neowin seems to have some doubts, but considering that they posted a different date (June 26th) a week ago and haven't actually been leaking information and builds from Microsoft for months, I'll trust Wzor. Here's what Neowin had to say about the RTM date: "According to our own reliable sources Microsoft is set to RTM by June 26." German site Winfuture.de also seems to be posting a different date (June 29th)...but the rest of their named dates in this estimate line up with what Wzor has posted in the past, which is, again making me lean towards believing Wzor's dates actually being true. Of course we won't really know until it happens, but you know who my bets are on.

Take note of the release at the bottom of the post, there is a torrent up on Wzor.

June 22, 2009: MICROSOFT Windows 7 RTM - the home stretch.

Today is June 22 on their way to work, we finally managed to talk to Bill Gates (Bill Gates) and we asked him one question, but the most important issue, which is interested in all the Internet community, "which build will be compiled and signed the final RTM release of Windows 7 Client-Server ".

In addition, we had to complain about Steve Ballmer, he is constantly confusing and does not disclose the exact plans for that Bill reasonably remarked, saying that his work "puff" to all the head, next time just ask me and I am all talk.
And so, here is the "secret plan" that was well hidden from us:

FINAL ROADMAP FOR WINDOWS 7 [CLIENT-SERVER]:
June 1 through June 19: BUILDING RTM ESCROW - already assembled RTM ESCROW.
June 22 through July 10: RTM RECALL - assembly and search for candidates to the final RTM release.
July 10: WINDOWS 7 RTM FINAL BUILD TARGET - build day "gold code".
July 13: WINDOWS 7 RTM SIGN-OFF - the date of signing the final RTM release!
On the RTM build of the day signed an official final release and you can begin to consider profit:

RTM - (abbreviation of English. Release To Manufacturing or, more rarely, pp. Ready To Market) - a symbol of product readiness for replication and production of electronic media.
Cinonimy: «Gold code», «Final version» product, «RTM-version» All this means that the issuance of the final product.
The proposed plan for us is the most accurate schedule.
As you now see, you should not wait for the appearance of the final version before July 10. We know that since July 10, Microsoft employees have access to the RTM build, and therefore from that day we should expect a leak.

The branch builds WIN7_RTM, candidates for the finals:
6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build - no sign-off!
6.1.7261.0.win7_rtm.090615-1900 - RTM branch build - no sign-off!
6.1.7262.0.win7_rtm.090617-1900 - RTM branch build - no sign-off!
6.1.7263.0.win7_rtm.090619-1900 - NEW candidate in RTM branch build.
- We communicate information on new builds very rapidly and add it as soon as we're aware of the assembly.

RTM version will be finally assembled in the main branch WINMAIN:
WINMAIN branch build:
6.1.7233.0.winmain.090614-1655 - actual build in winmain branch
The next assembly in WINMAIN will be the final RTM version, the exact number of the assembly is still unknown, but our sources report that most likely it will build a beautiful number 7300.
If you live we'll see. Until the final release of Windows 7, we do not plan to leak any new builds.
All are waiting for the finals ...
And just lastly, we decided to lay out Microsoft Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 Release Candidate build 7229.0.20090605-1336 for all platforms:
MICROSOFT.VIRTUAL.PC.INCL.XP.MODE.RC.BUILD.7229.0.20090605-1336.-WZT
SHA1: DE7C89D9DC0C8A0AC59495F7D1C1FBB2F789EF47
RAR SIZE: 481,674,215 byte

So much for waiting for RTM to upgrade anymore builds (currently at 7201, disappointing build)

I dived in (and am currently using) build 7260.

Sure, not the RTM, but pretty smooth and stable.

Only hiccup is the XP Mode not working, although that's probably because Windows 7 is itself a virtual image on VMware...

Any chance of the cut-down version with the XP install removed like last time?
(Interweb credit running dangerously low...;))

Microsoft obscured the issue. As a patriot I believe WZor. I feel like they have more actual information (previously they also told RTM is coming in the end of June). As I understand, July 13 is the latest date RTM should be signed on. But who guarantee Microsoft won't change its plans again?

6.1.7264.0.win7_rtm.090622-1900 - NEW candidate in RTM branch build.
- Information on new builds we communicate very quickly, and publish its technical details as soon as becoming aware of the fact that the assembly was held.

WINMAIN branch build:
6.1.7233.0.winmain.090614-1655 - actual build in winmain branch
WINMAIN branch 24.06.09 - without change! No change!

Also, from Neowin: https://www.windows7upgradeoption.com/Landing.aspx

A poster on the Neowin.net forum posted something fairly interesting earlier. Check it out:

As someone said on the Neowin forum on that post, wait until the 26th to see what the page says.

It might only have upgrade program details for OEM customers or something. Until the 26th or until someone tells us, it is a mystery what will be on that page.

Doesn't it take like 3-4 months to get from RTM to manufacturers to stores ready for delivery?

I guess with October 22nd breathing down their necks they'd better get it sorted by the end of June regardless.

Providing they get it right.
