I'm surprised that I haven't seen a post about Unite here yet. Here's the link to the Opera page which explains it: http://unite.opera.com/. It's basically a server in your web browser, letting you be a media server, file server and simple web server. The goal of Unite is to remove the middleman in online sharing.
I took some screenshots of Unite running in the Opera 10 Preview build:

The only downside to the Web Server service is that it only supports simple websites, so no php, and probably little to no script support. The only restrictions to the sharing speed for the File Server and Media Server is your bandwidth.

Opera 10 has so far been shaping up to be one awesome browser with tons of awesome features. I know that I will be using Opera 10 when it comes out. I have already set up Unite and have been syncing my bookmarks since the first beta for Opera Link came out.

So far, only the Web Server service has been failing for me. Also, I wouldn't have high expectations at this point because the Unite release is a snapshot release and is expected to be quite buggy.

IIS indeed, at least if you're planning on anything long term. Unite only runs html/xhtml, no php. While the features are interesting, they are also pretty useless. Want to listen to music wherever you are? Buy an mp3 player with an sd slot. Want to have a chatroom? IRC. Want some simple content hosting, get Joomla. Reinventing the wheel in a web browser, well its just a gimmick imo.

There's also a reason it's not a good idea to host from home.

Seems like a poorly-thought-out idea that's not half as revolutionary as Opera would want you to think.

If you look here. Above the address bar, you'll see three little dots. Click on them and drag them down, or double click on them to enable the visual tabs.
