Someone just today asked if I knew when it was coming out. I estimated before Christmas (we all know MS missed that with Vista). In my opinion, this is an OS worth waiting for - I have a personal dislike for Vista, but have 7 on my laptop! ^^

Good find, and Good job MS!

10/22 eh? That should be enough time for OEMs and any major company creating drivers for Windows 7 to get ready. And it will be just in time for the holiday season!

Yeah, we won't have the driver disaster that came with Windows Vista, especially considering most Vista drivers work in 7.

Well... any company that isn't Creative Labs of course. ;) All this time on, their X-Fi drivers are still abysmal for Vista/2K8.

Looks like it'll be upgrading time in a few months

Even though, my PC is capable I usually give 2 - 3 years time between upgrades.

Hell with that, I'm going to just go with the latest build before it's released. I'm not arsing around paying for something I've already had for a year.

Microsoft should give testers (who have tested all the betas and the RCs) a deal where they get some discount or a certain edition free.
