It hath leaked.

32bit : http://depositfiles.com/en/files/r6vptznkg
64bit : http://depositfiles.com/en/files/m88uucyt7

You need virtualisation technology, or it won't work. Which counts me out for now.

Enjoy.

No idea, mate.

I tried it on 7100. It installed ok, but can't run anything on it as I don't have the doofiddly hardware needed for it.

Open the link that says "Virtual Machines" then "create new VM" and then use an existing xp iso...

Well, it works under 7100 now.

It doesn't work under the administrator account directly, you need to be logged in with an ''normal'' user account.
If you have Virtual PC 2004/2007 installed, remove it, otherwise you get an error.

Also use the securable.exe to test if you can run it.

Also a good thing, the .vmc files are the same as 2004/2007 so the date remember trick should also work.

It sucks, since it requires hardware virtualization. It's designed for office computers, not home ones. Just tell me, how many office computers has CPU with hardware virtualization?

It depends, if the computer is a new one (with an Intel Core 2 processor or new AMD processors), it has.
But it is disabled in the BIOS, you have to enable it first.

What i want to know is : Is this stuff already hidden somewhere in windows? the update package is only 4mb and seems to activate VPC in it's fullness. Also found this, once the patch has been installed:

It is just Virtual PC, it uses the same .vmc files and .vhd files.
I wonder if this version supports 64-bit Quest OS's.

And about the patch.
I only noticed that it made some files in the APPDATA folder and the Program Files folder (for 64-bit it is in the (x86) program files folder, even while the update is 64-bit).

And in that folder is:

%Program Files%\Windows Virtual PC\Integration Components

In that folder there are 2 files, and they are 2mb each, so as big as the patch.
So I think that patch did activate an hidden feature and only copied 2 files.

Would be interested to see how people get on using it with some linux distro?

It would also seem that the "virtual machine explorer" or w/e is quite tightly integrated into explorer...

The "Intergration Components" are little more than the old "Additions" with a new name from what I can see.

Except now they only fully support XP SP3, Vista SP1 and Windows 7 (for the Seemless Mode).

4074 worked for the most part, but no seemless mode (yet) for me.

Seems the XP Mode VHD has leaked too now:

Adding to the M1 Torrent Queue

Edit: It's now at Technet too, seems to have come back at last.

The 32bit version doesn't support 64bit guests since someone asked.

Anyone work out how to enable floppy disk support (as in during the BIOS for bootable purposes)? Can't see any options around...

Seeing that Aero can be enabled for a Windows 7 virtual machine, does anybody think it will work for a beta of Vista too?

Ok, so here's the question. Can applications installed in a Vista guest be accessed from the host's start menu or is this feature specific only to VirtualXP?
