Hello and welcome to an another Release-a-fortnight. It's been a while since we had this, and it's because of a very simple reason:

No member has submitted any releases for a RAF for a very long time. Until now that is. However don't expect any of these releases again for a while unless members submit more RAF candidates.

Right, let's get on to the goodies :). The Distractor dug around on the net and fell over two very nice pieces of betas...

Microsoft Windows Me build 2476
Microsoft Windows Me build 2491

The builds came in as a bunch of files, so I put them each in an ISO container and packed them up. They are non-bootable, but they are verified and working. So enjoy your weekend and don't stay up too late with the betas =).

Thanks The Distractor for these excellent betas!

Enjoy!

..it's out already ? I thought it'd come out in a few hours time !! Oh well, the earlier the better ! :)

These builds would be referred to as "semi-lost", as they were leaked to the scene and now the only place you'd find them were in secure ftp servers with a long archive :)

Unfortunately it was only the win9x folder (read: the setup files) but thats to be expected as it was released under "0day" (small apps with a 300mb size limit) rather than apps-iso.

Yeah, well. I had some time in the morning and everything was set already, so it wouldn't really matter when it was released =D Not everyone is in the same time zone either =). Sure it would have been cool with the FULL ISO, but the setup files are those that matters, and we'll all happy you found those =).

According to my tables (Yes, they never asked for them back!) these were bootable, and there were NONE unbootable. They use a modified 98SE CD boot image.

ah, but I only had the win9x folder, not the full ISO, so it isn't bootable ;)

I suppose it would be possible, but I have no bootable ME iso, only bootable win98/SE isos. This would do i suppose .. :)

A 98SE bootsector will work, but its definitely not original.

They leaked to the scene in feburary or march 2000, probably when the builds were compiled.

They are Microsoft Tables (for employees) that have information such as build number, compilation date, Date of General Availibility... etc. 8)

I'm not sure, but I think most builds before Windows 2000 beta3 (any build before late 1999) aren't bootable
