For the people who can't view the other forums, most of the the keys that people receive are not Unique keys, so you do not have to worry about the 10 Activations per key part.

Got this build last night as I thought I may as well try it out now it's released; did anyone get the MP3 patch through Windows Update though? (I only got Defender definitions and Silverlight) I'm only using it in a virtual machine for testing so not really bothered about it but I was just wondering why it wasn't giving it to me, or if it has been slipstreamed into this build before it was released. Also, random point but did anyone else notice that the desktop Network icon from the Vista betas has made a reappearance instead of the one that is in Vista RTM?

Are there any differences between this build and the 7000 that was leaked a couple weeks ago, since they have the same build numbers?

They probably wanted to test it quite a bit themselves first, the build has to be of a reasonable standard with no major bugs to be a public release or it will leave people with a bad impression of Windows 7.

thay wanted to announce it at CES...its pretty simple agilest to me..
but you know if we caint give feed back then whats the point
i mean the point of a beta is to find bugs..

if you wanna just show off then keep it closed and just let the reviewers and telnets
sort things out

but then again i guess the only time error reporting is even remotely useful
is during the beta and RC stage...

i thought you could send feedback but just a limited number of times.

there obviously going to get anything they really want to fix out of the thousands of error reports anyway

wasn't necessary saying that to you.. my thoughts just kinda ran together abit xD

but in vista public beta thair was no limit on sending feedback..
and or bug reports did thay even change it for 7?

but at the same time if thay are going to RC stage next month or a beta 1 refresh
that dosent necessary mean that 7004+ is RC branch it is most likely just an interim build
based on partner and telnet feedback ( another thing that i just wanted to say no necessary at you )

bc as we know from LH thay go trough alot of rebuilds and code cycling
before thay git something thay preview to partner testing although 7 is quite tame compared to LH/Vista whare thay piratically previewed EVERY build to partners and lab leaks

but it dose make me wonder if thay already have a set path in thair head and
are going direct to RC then the question remains what the hell do thay need us for

We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit.

i figured 2.5 million was a pointlessly high number for a limit...

You can find the checksums on the TechNet Subscriber Downloads page. Just go to the OS you need the checksum for and click on 'Details'.
