Sorry, I'm such a noob in installing Longhorn server builds. How do you install this from within Windows (7 build 6801).

Does the time need to be set back?

1) Install VMWare Workstation or Virtual PC
2) Mount the DVD
3) Fire up the VM and install it.

Info:

See my site:
http://djrob.betaarchive.co.uk/site/microsoft/windows/server2008/604066.html

Otherwise if you want to install it on a real PC.
Replace the current OS or use an older pc.

Why I sad it was because you can't install an older version over a newer (it can, with BOOT.INI) but not with the Boot Manager.

Currently installing it in VirtualBox. My older PC (also a laptop) keeps yielding a "Memory Parity Error" (Hardware Malfunction). [Probably has something to do with damaging the cover of the memory cards connected to it.]

Sorry to say, a RAM stick may be faulty:

A DIMM may have a cell leakage.
