MS is even stupider for once selling XP MCE 2005 and issuing Rollup 2, making MCE 2005 the same as XP Pro with Media Center.
I'm pretty sure that MCE was always like Pro, not just after UR2. You know, there are a few features in Pro that MCE doesn't have, it's nothing major, but they exist.
Media Center 2005 has always been XP Professional, with the ability to join domains disabled. As far as I know, that's the only change.

This WGA, will it affect Windows XP Pro only, or will it also effect versions of XP that are built on Pro i.e MCE, and Tablet??

The new release is aimed specifically at XP Professional users.
Hopefully, the answer is no, it will only affect XP Pro.

BTW there is a patch somewhere on the net that allow MCE to join Domains, I think it impliments some of pro's files.

On that note, there is a patch that allows XP Home to join domains. The fact that someone made it isn't really surprising, small businesses usually just buy their PCs from a store and they usually come with Home licenses... then they get a domain controller and don't want to buy all new licenses.
