Post subject:  Bug Challenge for Windows Embedded Standard CTP!

Hello Daniel,

After just a week of the Windows Embedded Standard Community Technology Preview (CTP) being available for download, more than 600 people have tried it out! If you haven't visited the Connect site yet to download the CTP, please make sure to do it soon. To help you in your testing, we have created a list of new and/or updated scenarios that are enabled using Windows Embedded Standard. We encourage you to deploy these scenarios in your environment and submit any and all feedback using the Feedback forms that are available on the site. If you have any questions please post a thread on the Windows Embedded Standard MSDN forum. The product team will be monitoring the forum and responding as quickly as possible.

CTP Bug Challenge
On Friday we started a bug challenge for the CTP that will run through July 3rd. We will be giving away 12 Digital Photo Frames to the winners of the challenge! Simply download the CTP and report any bugs you find through the Feedback from to be entered. 12 winners will be selected based on submitting the most unique and useful feedback in each of the categories listed on the Connect page.

Updated Documentation and Downloads
Thanks to some of the feedback we have already received, we made some updates to CTP documentation. You can download the updated Release Notes and a previously unavailable Windows Embedded Studio help file here. In the Downloads section you will also see a new download for the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Client Prereq Macro. It has been tested and is compatible with the CTP. Simply add the Sysprep component to your embedded image and use a SCCM 2007 version that supports OSD. For more details, read this blog article: ... h-ctp.aspx.

And last but not least, if you missed the Launch Event on June 3rd don't worry! You can still register here to view it on demand.
Thank you for your interest and continued passion for Windows Embedded. If you have any questions about this CTP please send mail to

Thank you for your participation,
- The Windows Embedded Standard team
