Thoughts? I know I'm jumping ship to Be*
I've just had enough of their crap. We don't use the TV enough to warrant the price, the phone is overpriced and the Broadband is a joke when they drop the speed to 1/4 after 20 mins of use. The whole Phorm issue and now this. I've simply had enough. And hello to BT & Be*

I live in Nottingham (not too far away from Birmingham) and cable services aren't even available where I live - so its always been ADSL for me.

Virgin is great if you're in an area thats not over subscribed and you can cope with STM. I'm not in an over subscribed area but STM annoys the hell out of me. I'm being STM'ed now so everything is slow.

(Note: STM = Subscriber Traffic Management. EG They slow you down after you download so much between certain hours)

Yeah, I guess everyone seems to be on Virgin near me (obviously not those on the same road without cable services).

Also, Neological, I didn't know you too have Orange Home. My connection isn't that bad really, 1.95Mbps average, which could be better (yeah, I'm on Orange too).

Oh I forgot, I'm also quite far away from my exchange too.

I am 3 miles from my exchange and I'm on 4/5MB and can get a download speed of up too 700Kb/s if im lucky @ 2am.

BT say they can guarantee a faster speed in the summer, but i highly doubt it.

@ Andy: STM Sucks.

700Kb/s - thats not good at all. I've done a speedtest at 5 in the morning before and managed to get 3Mb/s - which still isn't great considering its their up to 6.5Mb/s package.

Also, take a look at this, stupid or what:
