Hi, i got this email today, perhaps you need it for your collection, only join it in connect :P

Quote:
Hello from the Windows Live Messenger Team!
We've been hard at work building the foundation for Windows Live Messenger 9.0, we'd like to give you a look at what we've built and ask what you think. We're running a small private beta to get early feedback on the new features we've built and get wider test coverage of the build.
As a beta tester you'll have access to an early 9.0 build, a private newsgroup just for Windows Live Messenger beta testers, and the ability to send bugs directly to the product team. The build you'll be beta testing with is a very early build, so it may be less stable than beta builds you've tried in the past. We're telling you this upfront so you know what you're getting into. If you're not sure about trying a not-quite polished build, maybe this beta isn't for you. If you're ready to dig in and explore this build with us, follow the below instructions to nominate yourself.
1. Go to http://connect.microsoft.com
2. Click "Invitation" in the left nav pane
3. Enter this invitation ID: B0-WBH8-FY44
4. Click Go
5. Fill out the nomination survey
We'll review all survey responses and accept as many people into the beta as we can. Look for mail from us soon!
We look forward to hearing from you!
The Windows Live Messenger Team

have fun with it :P

Wow, Thanks dude. I've never participated in one of these before but I said when 8.1 was done I want to next time. I've participated in betas for Office and I was in the Vista beta, this should be just as fun. I Hope I get accepted. :)

Ten minutes ago I've got this email:

Quote:
Congratulations and welcome to the Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta!

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the Windows Live Messenger 9.0 beta program! We're excited to hear what you think about the next version of Windows Live Messenger. As part of this select group you get an exclusive preview of Windows Live Messenger 9.0.

Here are some of the changes you'll see in 9.0:

Sign-in and messaging in multiple locations - be logged into Messenger from more than one computer at the same time!
Signature sounds - choose the sound your friends here when you log in, and customize the sounds you hear in Messenger
Animated display pictures
To get started in the beta, please follow these steps:

Visit http://connect.microsoft.com
Click on My Participation on the left navigation menu.
Select Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta in the list
You're in!
Please note that this is a private beta for a very small audience only - Windows Live Messenger 9.0 isn't ready for wide distribution yet. By entering the beta, you're agreeing to use the client and send us feedback, and to not share it with anyone else. Doing so is against the Terms of Use. If the build gets out too widely and starts causing problems on the service we may have to shut it down. We don't want to do that and we know you don't want that to happen, so please keep it to yourself.

Check out the Release Notes to get the whole list of what's new in this build and the list of known issues. This beta is a very early build, so you may find that it's less stable than beta clients you've tried in the past. The Known Issues list will tell you where you may run into more disruptive bugs. If you think you've found a bug, check there before filing it in the bug form.

When you are ready, go to the download page to get started. Use the beta client the way you normally would, try out the new features, and let us know what you think.

Thank you again for taking the time to participate in the Windows Live Messenger beta program. We look forward to hearing from you!

Windows Live Messenger Team

I hope not. All the noobs hopping on the lone MSNP16 server will surely make it crash and [censored] over the real beta testers (AGAIN)

One problem is now the server is reporting as down, is anyone else getting this issue? :(

No ... I bet you this will happen more frequently now because people who didnt get the email will download it by other means and eventually overload the one server...grr

OK small problem here. Two files uploaded are both different sizes.

Apache: 17557789bytes
M4rkuZ: 17557987bytes

Whose is the correct size so I know which one to move?

I think its only the diferrence in the compression level. Both files are fine, and have he same version ,because there is only this BETA atm.

so move mine :D I were 2,5 h faster :P :P

I rared mine using best compression, so that probably explains the difference in file sizes
