PostPost subject: Zune 2 Details        Posted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 9:49 pm
Microsoft announced on October 3rd the new Zune lineup due out on November 13th. It will come in two versions using flash storage, called the Zune 4 and the Zune 8, with 4gb and 8 gb (respectively, hence the name). Then there will be the hard drive model with 80 gb storage. The interface and the software have been rewritten completely and even the old Zunes will get the updates.

This article seemed to have the best details:

The UI looks quite nice and I like the big screen. Still I think Apple is way ahead (especially with the new Touch).

Any idea what price range we're talking about?

Yeah...

Zune 80: $250

Zune 8 (flash): $200

Zune 4 (flash): $150

A couple big features they have over the iPods...the Zune 80 will have TV out and will allow you to put DVD quality movies on it so it can be used as a portable DVD player.

Also all Zunes, including the first generation models after the firmware updates, will feature wireless syncing so you just need to be in range of your computer and you can transfer music onto it.

Personally I find the funcitonality of a Pocket PC better then a Zune...

If they could install Windows Mobile 6 on a Zune then I would buy that... Alternativley, they could install a 250 gig hd on a Pocket PC....
