Hey I'm looking for the untouched version of Windows Neptune the one on the ftp has been edited (doesn't ask for a CD Key) and when I go to about Windows it doesn't say when the trial ends

I doubt there is a Neptune build with timebomb in existence, the person who leaked Neptune said in the .nfo file that he replaced the setupreg.hiv file so that it never ever expires. NFO is below

Code:
Windows Neptune build 5111 º

º
º Format.....:.iso
File Count....:1 @ 295mb
º Supplier...:Unknown
º Packaged...:Repack
Util Type.....ohmy.gif/S
º Date.......:12/??/99
Protection....:None !
º º
º What does Bill Gates do one week after he puts himself in
º charge of all software development and makes Steve Balmer
º CEO ? He NUKES Neptune !! Oh m'gawd !! What a BAD move !
º I've been using this Developers Release since I got my hands
º on it back in December and it's wonderful ! OK ... so it has
º one quirky bug in explorer that won't open pages in the
º correct frame of a framed web page. Big deal.
º The original setupreg.hiv file has been replaced so this thing
º NEVER expires !! Originally it was a 444 day trial that reset
º itself when you reinstalled.
º Only system need to worry about is make sure you have enough
º RAM. I started off with 64MB of SDRAM and quickly found out
º I needed more. 96MB is bare minimum and 128MB is preferred.
º If I had a laptop, this OS would be on it faster than you
º could say "BOO !".
º

º
º Installation Notes :
º Unrar and burn to CD with yer favorite burning util.
º Doesn't ask for a CD key and as previously noted, doesn't have
º any time limit on it any more either.
º
º A definite keeper for collectors ---
º

The screenshots by KenOath show that there is a leaked neptune that has a timebomb

No, the original build is floating around. ReflectiaX had it at OSBA many years ago

When a timebomb is installed, it isn't untouched anymore, is it?

I thought that even if you modify SETUPREG.HIV, the setup program will still fail at some point, because of the timebomb is also contained within NT5.CAT, like with the very early Longhorn builds. So say if this Neptune build was compiled December 31st 1999, the NT5.CAT file would only be valid from 31/12/1999 to 31/12/2000, for anyone here who doesn't know.

So does 1 of the 12 & Daxziz, though there's a difference in
the filecount between the 2, one has 4337 files in the I386 folder, the other
has 4429 files, though neither of the 2 are bootable, & both install without
errors, I checked the differences out & found the 8 extra files were bitmaps
that looked as though someone had ripped them from various dlls or other
resources...

But what I am intrested to know is why this build doesn't have a timebomb in the NT5.CAT file, whereas the Whistler builds of XP, and the i386-based setup builds of Longhorn do?

why is that download of neptune above so small (295mb)?

are there some files missing? or is it an upgrade for win2k?

It's RAR'd.
Was it really necessary for such a large bump?

I think so, untouched 5111 was one of BA's RAFs AFAIK.
