Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

I don't think I've posted this or if anyone else has but this is a working installer of DirectX 10 for XP. I have personally tested this on 5 different XP's with no problem. I also think this works on 2000, ME, and 98SE. This really works and I had a picture with proof on Photobucket so if I find it, I'll post it. I can't make another one though 'cause I'm on Vista.

Has a trojan (Trojan.Injector.AQ) that loads more malware onto your machine. Also, the archive is also full scams created by someone with an IQ of about a thirteen year old. No reason to download this.

I checked this with AVG Pro and there was no virus. Really weird. Sorry people.

Virus alerts aside, Isn't DX10 for non vista OS's a complete waste of time? What with it being pure emulation (poor at that), it robs games of resources better spent on framerates than a psuedo DX10 effect that really contributes little to the appearence of games on those OS's over DX9. I mean why in gods name would you choose to run hardware based graphics in a poorly implimented software based failternative which afeter 2 years still has not crept out of alpha stage? It was a non starter when they thought of it, its still a non starter, and by the time its anywhere near user ready (if ever) we'll have DX11. Why bother. Buy DX10 hardware and Vista and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

DX10 doesn't really do anything useful/noticeable anyway, at least not in games released so far, so I don't see that this would really be worth bothering with even if it did work.

If you don't have Vista and are a hardcore gamer, this is used to install and play the new Games for Windows.

Surely if you were that hardcore, you'd be using Vista and DX10 and have hardware of sufficient spec so as not to be bothered by the few fps drop in framerate from XP. Ive been playing Bioshock again the past week or so and its oh so lush compared to DX9, same with HG:L.

As far as I know the only Vista-only game is Halo 2, and that is not because it's a DX10 game (it has no DX10 at all in it) but because MS thought that making this re-release of an old Xbox game exclusive to Vista would help Vista sales. Games for Windows is not a Vista-only thing, they all run on XP too as far as I know. But yes, anyone "hardcore" would most likely be using Vista nowadays anyway.

And Halo2 was cracked to allow XP users to run it irrespective of DX10 for XP, so yeah, Games for Windows has nothing to do with it really. What I would be interested in seeing would be some decent resolution vids of "DX10 in XP" running a game in DX10 vs the same game in Vista actualy running in native DX10.

I have a way to get XP to run FPS Creator X10. It doesn't save the games though but I found a workaround for this.
