Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

I'm requesting a bootable AIO ISO files for Nashville and Memphis (last build number) and Chicago (last build number). I also would like to request all MS-DOS and Windows 1-3 builds including Sparta and Janus. If someone can tell me how to make this, I'll make it my self and upload it too.

Hmm anyone got a copy of Windows 3.00 without the a? I've downloaded today 5 files called Windows 3.0 or 3.00 (one from BA server) and each of them shows 3.00a after installation...

I think I got a copy of 3.00 "non-a" ...

EDIT: Yep, it seems to be 3.00 - the a version is dated 1990-10-31, the non-a version 1990-05-10.
I will install it and if it is the non-a version I will upload it...

Allright, so far i've tested on the CD the Windows 3.x & Windows For Workgroups 3.x versions under VMWare and that's the result:
3.00 - installs fine
3.00a - installs fine
3.00 MME - installs fine
3.10 Beta - hangs in setup after it copies files (it also did it to me when installing from floppies so i think it's the beta itself)
3.10 FBR - installs fine
3.11 - installs fine
3.20 - hangs on bootscreen (looks like it's reading from HDD all the time but it doesn't anything)
WFWG 3.10 14E - after bootscreen says something about incorrect DOS version (i've used 6.22, i will be trying with older DOSes later but i've installed it few days earlier on 6.22 under VMWare and it worked perfectly)
WFWG 3.10 - installs fine
WFWG 3.11 - installs fine

I think it needs a Chinese version of DOS.

Nope, it works great here with MS-DOS 5.0 and 6.22
English version.

But it needs to be installed before you install Windows (off-course)

I once made a fixed version of this Windows 3.1 Beta, which had as many files as possible replaced with the correct versions. Unfortunately I couldn't get the Setup to get past the point where it copies the files. But it includes a Disk Image called "FIXES.IMA". After rebooting the system after the files are copied, you have to take the files from FIXES.IMA and copy them to the Windows Directory (or wherever you installed it), and then type WIN at the command prompt. It also uses the Windows 3.0 Boot screen, since I have my doubts about this build originally including the Windows 3.1 boot screen that you would see in Build 61d and the Final version (the original fixed Disk 2 included the Windows 3.1 Retail boot screen).

Here's the topic where I released this version (with more information and the NFO):
http://www.betaarchive.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3765

By the way, the actual name of this build is "Janus Build 34e" (Janus is Windows 3.1's codename).

EDIT: Fixed quote (the part after "from" was missing)

Do you have the original recalled Windows 1.00?
Every version I have downloaded seems to be version 1.01 with a modified version number.
The dates are all matching the dates of version 1.01.
