Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

You need Mac OS 9.0.4 or older to work with SheepShaver, 9.1 or 9.2 don't work. I uploaded the 9.0.4 restore CD for an iBook G3 to the FTP server a while ago so you could use that; while a 9.0.4 retail CD would be easier they seem quite hard to find, most are 9.1. To use it you need to boot from it, mount the disk image in the Configurations folder, copy everything from it to your Mac's hard drive, delete the AirPort file from System Folder > Extensions > Startup Items (I think that's where it was), and then reboot from the hard drive :) (the installer is locked to iBooks only).

That's what I was referring to, when I say Mac I mean the emulated Mac inside SheepShaver - boot SheepShaver from the CD and then follow my instructions and you'll get OS 9 running in there :)

I may have it, give me a few hours and let me check if I do, I dunno if the CD is based on a hybrid burn or if Linux will let me check it or not.

1a. What Linux do you use?

1b. If it's Debian/Ubuntu, then it should have Packages capable of reading HFS Files, but as for ripping Mac CDs, I have no clue on how to rip that kind of CD on Linux

On Windows you can just ISO a Mac disc with any program, you won't be able to see the contents in Windows but it's just an image file of the bytes on the disc so still works.

I was waiting to see whether somebody else had it but, I have a non machine specific install of Mac OS 9.0.4, which I'll be willing to upload.
I ISO'ed it this evening and RAR'ed it up and it weighs in at 372MB.

I'll do it tomorrow night as tonight I'm going to download Top Gear 01X11.
There is a couple of other Mac files that I have which I could upload providing it's not classified as Warez (I'll probably post up a offer thread in the near future).
