What is the difference between the launch edition and a normal copy?

It doesn't have support for Alpha AXP-based computer systems; support for them was added post-launch.

Microsoft TrueType Font Pack 2 (Microsoft · 1992) [Fonts]

-> I have this, copied from disks but have not scanned the diskettes.

Microsoft Video for Windows 1.0 (Microsoft · 1992) [Multimedia Extensions for Windows 3.1]

-> MME for Win3.1 is not Video for Windows. They are separate products. I found fractions on a number of ISO files. NNE has musicbox.exe and mbrowser.exe.
-> there is an IBM branded diskette on the server, but some of the files are broken.

Microsoft Windows 3.1 Driver Library (Microsoft · 1992) [Device Driver Pack]

-> I did ask for this from MSFT in the day, but they did not have diskettes, just the download.

MMPM/2 1.0 (IBM · 1992) [Multimedia Extensions for OS/2 2.0]

-> I've seen this as a separate entity on a CD at some point

  1. That's so nice! Do you have the dumps hosted in your website?
  2. Meanwhile, I can download VfW 1.0 from WinWorld.
  3. According to the Windows 3.1 Hardware Compatibility List, the Windows 3.1 Driver Library was also available on diskettes.
  4. The Toolkit was on CD-ROM; the Runtime was on diskettes.

If i recall correctly, the MMPM/2 diskettes in 2,10 were listed as a separate product. OS/2 2.11 diskettes come with MMPM/2 as v 1.2 as a separate install. I just checked.

Windows 3.1 MME is on the betaarchive or something as MMPACK. This is the version that I have seen in IBM PS/1 restore tapes, and also it's been mentioned as "a cdrom with DOS 5.0, Windows, OS/2 2.0, and WinMME update." If you follow the PCC update chain through, DOS 5 will install from a network, eg a cdrom, because it uses the setup from the DOS5EIU diskette.

I know the MSFT wdl came on diskettes: i telephoned them after i bought win31 reskit.

I don't have the dumps yet on the website.

The ttfpack2 diskettes are http://www.os2fan2.com/files/ttfpak21.dsk and http://www.os2fan2.com/files/ttfpak22.dsk

They were copied from the original diskettes in 1998.09.12, just after the cdburner came on line.

Second URL fixed, thanks IBMPCAT5150

os2fan2: You made a typo in the second disk's URL.
Anyway, thank you very much for offering the Microsoft TrueType Font Pack 2!

That CD-ROM (with Windows and OS/2), as far as I know, is none other than Ultimedia System CD, which was bundled with PS/2 Ultimedia models: v1.0 (bundled with PS/2 Ultimedia M57) was included DOS 5.0, Windows 3.0 MME and OS/2 2.0 LA, and v1.1 (PS/2 Ultimedia M77) came up with DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1 and OS/2 2.00.1. Later revision is on Archive.org, but without boot floppies :(

Actually, MMPM/2 1.0 existed (Runtime = IBM Part No. 04G3367, Toolkit = 04G3369) and it was designed for OS/2 2.0.

MMPM v 1.0 is on the cdrom I uploaded, for the PS/2. http://www.os2fan2.com/files/ibm-m57.rar

It has a number of rare things, like a conversion from Win30 to WinMME. Still have not figured where help 3.07 comes from, though.
