Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Hey!!
Now that we know that the first kinda release of Microsoft Windows 1.00 is gonna be leaked I'd love to get the Aldus Pagemaker to run it on the OS.
Is it available somewhere?
Thanks

Hmmm. I'd prefer a simple download :), Yet, I think it's a hard one to find, yet, who knows....
Thanks though

The source this comes from isn't reliable, so it may not be authentic.

- unblestone: Must be very nice, indeed, to steal my things, and leak them, without my permission, without giving me, nor the person who provided it to me, credits for it, and even removing the person's orginal .NFO from the archive, AND re-naming both the archive, AND any files present in it.

Watch your words mate. I didn't steel this from you nor did I remove any .nfo file (there never was one) nor was I told to not release it. I wasn't even talking about you when I said "unreliable source". Interesting that you felt being addressed.

- unblestone: You're right, you didn't steal it. You got it from ConiKost, who got it from Dirk, who in turn got it from Namronia. However, one thing is true - Dirk wasn't supposed to leak it, but yet, he did, so the fact remains, that it was leaked without permission. Also, what do you know about me? I never broke a single rule here, so, please, stop your bogus threats. ;)

Wrong. Don't make assumptions, please. No one from the WH forums provided it to me. I got it more than 5 weeks ago.

"bogus threats"? People should really read what you posted at the WH forums. May I quote?

"- InfinX: So, let me get this right, you're accusing the whole BETAArchive community of faking Beta's? Congratulations, you just insulted our community in the worst way possible. Really nice of you. Now, either you apologize for this right now, or I'm going to tell everything to Andy, the Administrator, and founder, of BETAArchive, and then, we'll see, if you'll still dare to insult us in this very arrogant way, AFTER he'll personally complain. :-/"

(and that was a reply to InfinX who only said that he doesn't believe you. BETAArchive wasn't even mentioned.)

So, who's making threats? Again, watch your words.

As for not breaking any rules here, well, you made a big mistake in one of your posts at WH. I'm not telling you which one, because you would immediately edit your post. So I know it was you who was playing tricks on me and KenOath, who again retired because of you this time. Great work, really. Hope you're proud now..

- unblestone: If it's about having stolen your account, then that wasn't me. The mistake you're talking about was already mentioned by KenOath to Andy, but he failed to provide the exact thing he was talking about, just like you are right now. So yeah, I really don't have any idea on who stole your account here, but it certainly was NOT me. ;)

Stop the insults RIGHT NOW or you will BOTH be banned. Take it to the PM's or stop all together.

I am not removing any files without proof of ownership, since thats going to be pretty hard to prove, I think its fair to say its staying.

Thank you.

How can you ask for permission to leak something - you may ask well as Microsoft to do it....

And I seriously doubt anyone in this topic is with Microsoft's legal team or administration.

If you want to have the use of a mouse, you might be able to try the newest version of Bochs, however I'm not sure if it would be able to run MS-DOS Versions 5.0 and earlier, since I tried that in a Bochs VM and it didn't work, and as far as I know, Windows 1.0x doesn't work with MS-DOS 6.0 or earlier. You might want to try it on a real system though, since they can run MS-DOS 5.0 and earlier unlike Bochs, and may support both types of mice (Serial and PS/2). And if your wondering, it doesn't have to be an old system, just a system that can run versions of MS-DOS earlier than 6.0 and supports PS/2 and Serial mice.

Well, since I'm now confused about whom to thank, well, I just say a general thank you!
I'm sorry it was leaked, and I promise I won't leak it any more (even though the link is there, lol)
Thanks, and sorry if this created a problem :)

It was OBrasilo who had this version. It was sent to him by himinkh, so if you want to thank anybody, those are the people you should be thanking. And I'm glad you apoligized.

Edit: It was sent to OBrasilo by Hiroshi Nakamura, NOT himinkh!

Ah, so it's finally out... good for the community, but please, lose the attitude ok?

Get one fact straight:

Microsoft owns this software.

They came up with it, they coded it, they got paid to code it, they release it, they put their company logo on it, they sold it.

Everything else is a "leak". No one owns a leak except for the holder of the copyrights. In this case Microsoft.

I do however agree on that people may or may not release something out of respect of his source. But that doesn't give anyone the right to say that "I own this". It's really sad when things goes this way, and only now do I understand why some people choose to not release things.

It's sad, really sad. But the cat is out of the bag now, nothing to do than hope that we learn something from this. And for those that just have to fight on the forums: Take it off the threads ok? If you really must fight over pieces of computer software then do it in private. No need to pest down the forums.

To the leaker: thanks for releasing this. To the ORIGINAL leaker, whereever you are: Thanks for preserving this piece of history, now it will be preserved for the future. I had hoped this would come out as a Release-A-Fortnight instead. But it's out, so all you collectors out there, enjoy!

So, was this going to be in the Release-a-fortnight? [censored] a Bittersweet ending.

Anyway, should someone post this in the "New Betas/RTM" Forum??

Also, is this the Win100 beta that was mentioned in the News forum? or is this the Final, real Windows 1.00??

Oh, and is someone going to/already upping it to the server??

Well, so maybe half of the forum is gonna kill me for this.
Since I was not expecting Win100B to be the file I downloaded, since what I asked for was Aldus Pagemaker for Windows 1.0x, I still need some help getting it. Is it available somewhere?
Sorry for all the inconvenience this has brought.
Thank you

Why should someone be angry of you?
Its not your fault that other people are arguing about something you havent asked for...
