Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Digging through old junk at workplace, we found a few boxes of software:

  • Microsoft Visual FoxPro 3.0 Standard Edition (for Win95, WinNT, Win3.1) -- box, 13 DMF floppy disks, bunch of manuals, promo card for "FoxPro Advisor" mag
  • IBM VisualAge C++ 3.0 for OS/2 -- box with 36 floppies and a ton of manuals
  • Microsoft Office 4.3 Professional ("Now with Access 2.0!") for Win3.1 -- box with 24 DMF floppies and half-a-ton of manuals, plus another box with a second copy of the same manuals (missing the floppies)
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation ("Academic Price") -- five boxes with CD-ROMs, three of even still shrinkwrapped
  • Obligatory smell of mold

I will try to image the FoxPro and VisualAge floppy disks sometime sooner or later (hopefully before I get kicked off for inactivity) and upload them to the site. (I'm sure everyone already has WinNT and Office 4.3 so I probably don't need to waste time on those?)

Unfortunately I don't really have any way to scan such a massive pile of manuals...

Office 4.3 could be worth a upload aswell according from the database it's in a iso format and unknown if it's from original disc you could replace that with your copy using the guidelines as for windows nt 4 will need to know the build number

Cool, the CD version of VisualAge 3.0 is already floating around (I uploaded my copy to WinWorld a while back). It'd be nice to have the floppy version as well for completeness.

The database only lists VisualAge 4.0 for AIX though?

...I'll get around to making these images eventually, I will.

Right, I haven't uploaded the OS/2 version yet to the FTP. As I say, I have uploaded it to WinWorld, since they're more lax on packaging/documentation scans.

Someone recently sold a copy of VisualAge 5 for AIX on eBay, and I didn't manage to snag it. Super unfortunate, but maybe it'll show up eventually.
