Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Hello,

could somebody with an Intel Mac running Tiger please check if there is a package for Photo Booth somewhere on the DVD and if yes, upload it somewhere? I need it but only have the Leopard version which won't run on Tiger.

Thanks.

Hmm, I think I can guess why you want this... ;) I wanted to try this on my Mac as well to see if it works with any camera but couldn't find it anywhere, I think the first Macs with a built-in camera came with an OS later than 10.4.0 so it's not on my (PPC) Tiger discs, only those machine-specific discs. Do you get it if you have a standalone iSight camera do you know, or only the built-in one that new Macs come with? (I looked for a download of the iSight software to see if I could get it that way, but couldn't find one on Apple's site, only an updater)

Yes, you guessed right :) You only get it if you install Leopard or if you purchase a Mac with a built-in iSight.

Here you go:
http://rapidshare.com/files/80381415/Photo_Booth.rar
This should work with all Macs (worked with my OSx86 Tiger)

Includes "Photo Booth.app". Drag into Applications folder (and Dock if you want) and run. P.S. You'll need the macam drivers if you want an external USB camera to work on it.

Feel free to upload it to SP if necessary. I just thought that it wasn't really beta related so I uploaded it to RS.

@mdogg
Thanks, that's exactly what I intend to do with it too.

@all
There is also SantaSnaps which is sort of a "holiday-inspired" Photo Booth clone, but I'd rather have the original.

This doesn't seem to be working for me (10.4.10, VMware) - I installed the Macam extension like they say, and the USB camera I'm trying works in the Macam app itself (just about anyway, I suspect this camera is extremely bad quality), but when I open Photo Booth it loads and the menus come up on the menu bar, but no window appears (it must recognise the camera though, as it complained that no camera was found when I tried without the Macam extension). Is there perhaps more to installing Photo Booth than copying the .app over, is there a package for it on the OS DVD for a Mac that came with a built-in camera that anyone would be able to provide?

Sometimes you can if you get permission from Andy - I got permission from him for Vista Ultimate R2 to upload an iBook G3 CD for me (which I still have to download, but at this rate my internet will be shaped ...)
