Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Even though it's a pre-release version it's just the Sierra promo video, it most likely never leaked

I know only one leak. It has some unfinished maps, monsters (from HL1), weapon... It`s around 1,4 gb + 2 map packs (that you should compile yourself).

He is propably talking about HL2 - it was 1.39GB. And there 2 map packs - 1 with uncompiled HL2 maps and 1 with (un?)compiled HL1S and CSS maps.

EDIT: However, if he is talking about HL1 leak anyway, he might be right. If it contains engine source code and uncompiled maps/objects it may be much bigger.

The HL alpha from 97 was likely never leaked and I doubt even Valve has it anymore.

the true is that this demo doesnt have differences for the final product, but if you search in its .pak files, it have inside many models, sounds and textures that didnt appear in the retail game, this beta files were used for some mods like the well-known Sven Coop, and for a future mod (i think it was cancelled) called Quiver (the old project codename for Half Life), that wanted to recreate the beta story seen in the early promotional videos and the book Raising the Bar. If you want to see some supposed beta levels of Half Life you can download Half-Life: Uplink, it is a second demo of Half-Life but in a totally different map that doesnt appear in the final game, it is a short but interesting demostration, you can download from here: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,6813-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html
