Software to download phonebook from SE K700i

Post by fzajac »

Well. My friend had Sony Erricson K700i and now bought new phone (K800 AFAIK). He wants his old address book to be in new phone. He was going to import it but the problem is that the screen in old mobile is broken (dont ask me what he did). Do you know any program for that he can import adress book with after just connect it to computer (has to work on XP)?

Has he got the Sony Ericsson PC suite installed on his PC? (should come on disc with the phone, or can be downloaded) You can definitely sync contacts between the phone and Outlook, so he could do it that way if he has Outlook installed - I can't remember if you can import/export contacts without Outlook or not, I don't have the software installed at the moment as they haven't updated it to work on Vista yet. Presumably he had stored his contacts on the phone itself, as if they were on the Sim card then of course he could just put it in the new phone and copy them all over to it.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, you just connect the phone by USB and then do it all from the PC as far as I remember (at least for sending calendars and contacts to the phone, which is what I've done with my K750i).
