[REQUEST] Windows NT 1991 Prerelease

Post by GL1zdA »

Basically this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &viewitem=
I was outbid, the price was $0.37 until 2 hours before the end and then it skyrocketed and my bid was second ($66.67). There's a good chance it contains a Windows NT build - the final SDK for NT 3.1 contained both the OS and SDK.

I want to say I had this before (lost it in a move! grr) and it xcopies itself for an 'install' process.. it's VERY rough around the edges, only installs on real machines, and even then it's VERY picky.....

And it called itself NT OS/2 in a bunch of places...

If I remember the big 'demos' of the time were the MDI threaded box bounce demo, and the console 'bounce' demo showing upwards of 32 threads!

It was a big deal back then!

The build is unknown. I think the build is lower than 388.

Could still be a chance; the seller might not have sent the CD on its way yet.
Goodbye.

It was shrink wrapped and he sold it as shrink wrapped, so he can't just open it before shipping to the winner.

There is book from 1992 about NT.
I found it at a library but they sold it when I had no chance to visit.
It tells about a public beta 1 and has an appendix about beta 2.
Build 388 is Beta 3.
I would really like to see the December 1991 Beta.

I might just bid on that one ;)

If it's not me that ends up winning it, I hope someone here wins it.

EDIT: The seller also has these items:

Windows NT SDK from October 1992
Windows NT SDK/DDK from March 1993
Goodbye.
