Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Yeah, I know, regarding Whistler, there was also 2462, which I have as well, and supposedly also 2267 & 2410. But I was talking about Windows 2000 and .NET/2003 betas mainly, not especially Whistler builds because I know there have been some. However, I have yet to see a Win2000 or .NET Datacenter beta...

Also builds 2488, 3505, 3604, 3663, 3678, 3681, 3689, 3700, 3718, 3788,
3789 & 3790 come in DataCenter builds...

I'll install the retail of 2000DTC late tonight if I don't forget,
Maybe a .net build too time permitted...
& send Andy the screenshots to put up...

This 3 gig drive on my comcrap tester has been formatted about 200
times within the last 12 months I reckon... :?

@ empireum, have you installed your copy of 2462DTC, most, if not all
copies getting around OSBA for some time ended up being the same
corrupted copy with quite a few corrupted files in the I386 folder...
You may want to test it before upping it anywhere...

Here's the size of an original 2462 DTC for reference...

That's quite a lot. I didn't even know about 2488. I only knew 3790 for sure because I have an ISO of it :) Do you have some screenshots of these?

Thanks, I've already upped some screenshots of 2000 DTC retail... But I haven't seen any .net builds...

It's a testing machine, isn't it?

Oh... I haven't installed it yet to check that but knowing this about the possibility of it being corrupted I will soon do that. My ISO size is 656.418.816 bytes. Does that mean it's corrupted?

As far as I know, 2488 only came in Datacenter..

The easiest way to tell, is browse to the i386 folder on the CD, choose
"select all" from the edit\drop-down menu on the top of the screen,
{ or just press Ctrl+A } , when all files are highlighted, right click on the
driver.cab & choose the option in winrar to "Test Archive" ...
It'll actually test not just the driver.cab, but all the other compressed files
as well as it seems to recognise the files as being cabs, but you have to
actually right click on another cab archive 1st for winrar to recognise &
give the option to actually test the rest of the files 1st...
When I was early on the scene at OSBA & never had 2462DTC, I actually
downloaded it from 3 different servers & found they were all the same
corrupted iso, I PM'd other server owners asking if their iso was any
different in size but they never were...
From memory the file count was right, just that about 500 files had
issues that would stop it from installing...

It was the same for Whistler Pro build 2509, ALL iso's getting around
ended up being the same corrupted iso....
& i'm not saying that there's no good iso's of 2462DTC or 2509Pro getting
around, just that all the servers on osba seemed to have the same bad
iso's...
If you have 2509 Pro, you may want to check it as well, the way I just
posted above...

As I said – I didn't even know about 2488 at all  Do you have any screenshots of it? I'm quite interested in the Datacenter editions as these are the absolute flagships...

No, I don't have 2509, the newest Whistler workstation beta I have is 2505.

As I've already asked, do you have some screenshots anywhere of all these Datacenter builds? I'd be really interested to see them, especially the 2488 and 3505 one :)

And, I suppose your 2000 DTC retail comes on a CD? May I see a picture of it? Have never seen a CD of this...

I checked the 2462 Datacenter build on Andy's FTP, seems that it is
indeed corrupt, though not as bad as what was kicking around on OSBA..

After determining what files were corrupt using Winimage, I then validated
the same using 7zip...
Seems that the driver cab alone has 444 files within it that are corrupt...

This is the report below validated with both 7zip & Winimage...
May as well ditch it....
The driver cab is also different in file count from all other 2462 builds...

Code:
!   C:\Datacent\I386\DRIVER.CAB: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\DSSENH.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\DX8VB.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\EVCON.CH_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\EXP168_T.IC_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FP40EXT.CAB: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FSCONINS.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FXSADMIN.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FXSCOMEX.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FXST30.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\FXSTIFF.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\GLOSSARY.CH_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\GM.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\GSTARTD.CH_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\GT3000_R.IC_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\HELPSVC.EX_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\HHCTRL.OC_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\HOTPLUG.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\HPCLJ5UI.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\IASADS.DL_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\IEINFO5.MO_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\IEXPRESS.EX_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\IIS.IN_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\IMS.CAB: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\INOXVT.BI_: The archive is corrupt
!   C:\Datacent\I386\JAVART.DL_: The archive is corrupt

---------------------------------------------------------

This one below always shows up as corrupt by Winimage
even though it's usually OK, as probably is this one...

!   C:\Datacent\I386\WINNT32.MSI: The archive is corrupt

Thought I'd post the results seeing I went to the trouble of seeing
why it was different in size from my own copy...

Okay, that speaks for itself.... Thanks for checking!
As I've asked earlier, do you happen to have some screenshots of your other Whistler/.net Datacenter builds? Thanks for upping the 3663 and 3678 DTC ones!

When I find spare time i'll install them for screenshots...
Just wondering why the need for screenshots, is it to validate what I
have.? or what exists for real..?
