GSC has release today one of the most complete singleplayer builds of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, which is 'xrCore' build 1935, Oct 18 2004. It's an official gift to all the fans.

This build contains lots of the long-awaited stuff. It features 17 locations, including such the legend as Dead City.

It also has transport, working A-Life and lots of other features that were cut from the final release. This build is dated by october 2004, so it's very similiar to the build shown in "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Final Countdown" video series released by "Igromania" magazine in 2004-2005. It also means this build is one of the builds before GSC has started all over again.

I got Halo Wars, the Halo 3 Mythic map pack, high in my math exam (:D), and now this!

Thanks for posting this new or I would have missed it!

EDIT: I have the supposed build 2055. I think it's a fake, and its password protected.

Halo Wars was released in Australia today :D


I havn't downloaded all the parts of this S.T.A.L.K.E.R build, but from what I've read it's launched my batch files.

If it doesn't need 3D Analyse to emulate HW Caps, or whatever that option is called, (and I finish downloading all the parts) I might write a simple launcher for this.

SLAYERMAGGOT, 2055 is fake, the author of the archive has confirmed it.

FarCry3r, seems like you have some problems with encoding. It's a copy of the FAQ posted at Gameru.net, right? I'll try to translate it later.

It is a tad unstable. I've just downloaded it and have been playing with it for twenty minutes so far. Had two crashes.

I have to thank GSC for releasing this build. It is so rare for developers to voluntarily release alphas or betas of their work (unless it is leaked intentionally, of course).

Is there anyway to manually set graphic options? It's look very horrible on my HD 3870 :( And most of the texts in the game are in Russian. Someone up to the challenge to translate it to English? Online translator does a very baaaaaad job at this :cry:

Currently there is no loader, so you only can change graphic options via user.ltx (or an ltx that use bat file) or command prompt. But don't wait to get great graphic there, this build is from 2004.

It just hit me:
shouldn't this build be DX9 compatable?
I think GSC first showed their X-Ray DX9 support at E3 2003, and since this build is from late 2004...

Have you no fear of God? :P DX9 was shown for the first time at E3 2005. The community couldn't bring DX9 shaders even in 2215, so...
