Anyone have an idea of why a Starfox ship is even programmed to fully function as an enemy in OOT anyway? It does rolls and flys properly and everything, complete with the ability to target it and kill it. Not exactly basic programming, the textures would have to be brought in, there would be a modeller and a coder for the animation and enemy routine and everything.

Seems odd that its even there, in any version of Zelda.

Or it was put there when they were still making the engine/desiging/testing. Or just for fun ;)

my guess is that the developers needed a way to test the targeting system, as well as things like enemy collisions with the world and cutscenes, but they didn't want it to be boring for testers

actually the Arwings where put into the game as a April Fools joke for the beta testers, and that is the truth not a theory
