I'm pretty sure there was this VIP badge that you got for registering early that put you on top of the beta testers list...

Its not Call of Duty 5, its Call of Duty : World at War, Call of Duty 5 is scheduled for release in 2010.

As one of the headlines say:

"CoD:WW Friends and Family Xbox 360 Multiplayer BETA is LIVE!"

So I guess the beta is only for 360 owners.

There will be a PC beta, however at the moment the beta is only available on the 360.

Some guy on has 20+ keys to give away for the 360 if anyone’s interested: http://digiex.net/front-page-news/558-c ... s-win.html

I would imagine most people here are interested in the PC version though.

Already Downloaded both the 360 and PC Versions:

360 Version: Very Cool, Like the Dogs idea, but the Artillery idea I don't like X(
PC Version: Can't Run because my graphics card doesn't support Vertex Shaders :( I'm usually ending up getting UBYTE4N errors, so I'm just going to keep my Copy of the World at War Beta as a Collector's Item :)

Call of Duty 5 is already releasing?, I've heard its based on COD4 but goes back to the old world war days since COD4 made a huge impact and thought that world war setting will make it even better.

Rumors are surrouding that 6 will be in space?..

Yes, Call of Duty: World at War is being released in two weeks. It is being developed by Treyarch (who made CoD3) instead of Infinity Ward (who made CoD 1/2/4). Most likely it'll probably just be CoD4 with a WWII setting.

And Nazi Zombies. No joke.

COD 6 has been confirmed already! :D
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/31456/Call-Of-Duty-6-confirmed

Wonder how many more CODs there's going to be...

For COD5 beta on the 360, it is too slow and too much like COD4 which I guess is a good thing because you can't beat the multiplayer mode on number 4 but hope it will be changed in the final version to look and feel unique.

As logicaL said imagine Call of Duty: World at War as CoD4 with WW2 weapons and setting. The running and perks are there. For those who expected a CoD2 like game this should be a disappointment. As someone else in here already said the aiming feels a bit off.

it is basicly a mod for cod4. Instead of UAV you get a recon plane, instead of airstrike you get artillary and instead of a helicopter you get packs of dogs. My profile name is "sack", fell free to add me to your buddy lists

I agree, the game is more of a mod of CoD 4, yet I never liked the modern warfare part in cod 4

On the other hand I believe the single player will be quite good. I expect it to be as dramatic as CoD4 was. The CoD4 engine offered very good features to make a battlefield and individual fights pretty realistic and I expect WaW to be the same. :)

Ps. I hope the pack of dogs will be half as lethal as helicopter was

I hope though that the gameplay in CoD 5 won't "be on rails" like CoD 4 was. If one could play the game in a more free way like you can in FarCry 2, that would be interesting.
