Youll never find this in internet or somewhere else...

From Gaben wiki:

Team GabeN have successfully compiled the TF2 server and client DLLs from the leaked source code, along with the V35/36 engine to load them. This has allowed us to (very closely) re-create what Valve called Team Fortress 2 at around the time of HL2's leak. I say "very closely" because the only thing that's different are the assets - those have been created by us or borrowed from various mods to use during development. We hope to eventually have our own models made specifically for TF2.

Wikipedia

So as you can see its TF2 based on leaked source code of hl2 beta by team gaben. Here is winter build which containts lots of test and proto maps, also there are lots of new models in it. Build dont need any hl2 installed on your computer. Youll need just unpack it. Enjoy!

HOLY CRAP how did you get this?
I tried to ask them if I could become a beta tester, but they said no :(
Maybe if you hacked third reich (Not the nazi propoganda, GabeN's steam clone) you could download HL2...

Yeah, it's leak of the year :P

A bit offtopic, but one of Team GabeN's past member has username Stealth. I wonder if he is the same guy that has leaked LHR's files...

It wouldn't surprise me, I know he was into that sort of thing (you could tell by his site, full of game site templates)

Thankyou so much for this!!!
I found out there was a Team Gaben leak a few weeks ago and searched like mad!

Could someone upload it to somewhere thats not rapidshare please?
90 mins between downloads :(

EDIT: do you know when this build was compiled?
if you look at the new screens, (http://andy.barrystailoring.com/filez/index.php/TF2), it looks WAY better

Longhorn Reloaded, a JoeJoe's project to finish up Longhorn using build 4074 (later we used i386 repack of this build) but it has been canceled due to law problems with Microsoft...

Whenever i try to run this, a popup appears that says
'You are not part of the devteam. Die. 1.'

How can you fix this?

Can someone please upload this to an FTP or any other hosting site, somewhere that it isnt broken up into a lot of files? It would be greatly appreciated. Or even some more screenshots to look over?

Just run hl2.exe (or tf2.exe), dont run a .map, .bsp or .cfg file.

What i don't like about this release, is that there was so many changes to get it to run that it is no longer an untouched beta. Even the title screen, for example, is not an original but one made by Team Gaben.

We want to preseve these betas right? We really need a copy of the untouched one, even if we can't play it.

sadly there is no tf2 beta, the only thing from the leak about TF2 was the 2 models you can see in the pictures, and some code, but thats all. What you see in the Gaben TF2 is a game created completely from the leaked source code, nothing more. All the content inside the game is created by gaben, except the models, some code and maybe some stuff like textures and sounds from the HL2 Beta. Let say is a mod for the HL2 Beta.

If that's true, I really dont see a reason in keeping this "Beta"

To bypass the "You are not on the devteam" error, replace your launcher.dll with the one from anon-hl2.[/b]

sry but its not your leak from a forum... its from my "friends"

Quote:
To bypass the "You are not on the devteam" error, replace your launcher.dll with the one from anon-hl2.

you just need to create empty devkey.key everywhere, where you want to run .bat file or game by tf2.exe

btw all gaben builds from february-april 2007 year which i had are special protected with some sort of online activation, so you cant run server in any ways

this exe with .bat files(maybe ill release build if somebody will fix it)
http://rapidshare.com/files/113002077/LEAK.rar.html

in this april build is online activation and offline, in online - exe connects to their main server, but it doesnt work(connection timeout)

in offline - exe looking something on your comp, dont know what and activation failed

then when youll try to start a new game and server, tf2 beta will shut down with error, i asked some friends to fix it, but... maxium i got is this:

Code:
Dim strArray As String() = Me.GABEN_GetSecureOfflineCertificateKeymap
        Dim hours As Integer = DateTime.Now.TimeOfDay.Hours
        Dim str2 As String = strArray(hours)
        Dim process2 As Process
        For Each process2 In Process.GetProcesses
            If (process2.ProcessName = "tf2.exe") Then
                Application.Exit
            End If
        Next
        Dim process As New Process
        Dim str As String = Interaction.Command.Replace("-gaben_tfalpha", Nothing)
        Dim startInfo As ProcessStartInfo = process.StartInfo
        startInfo.Arguments = ("-gaben_tfalpha " & str2 & " " & str)
        startInfo.FileName = "tf2.exe"
        startInfo.WorkingDirectory = Application.StartupPath
        startInfo = Nothing
        process.Start

I reckon it looks pretty cool (everything: maps, models, textures) even though TeamGaben only had the code to work from. And the new engine looks amazing :D
