Haven't seen much about this, only place that seems to be aware of it is 4chan...

Not much in it though, map included is ChernarusPlus which is just the Arma 2 map with more explorable buildings. Zombies spawn but their attacks do no damage (but falling from heights does, so maybe someone could fix it?)

It also tries saving your character to the server every 2 seconds which stalls the game while it works. I've made a quick fix which seems to work fine:
Code:
backup dayz.exe
open in hex editor
go to offset 3CD9A0 (in hex)
change next 2 bytes to 90 90
go to offset 3CDB67
change next 2 bytes to 90 90
save


Looking in some of the pbo's and scripts it looks like theres some debug options in here too, not sure how to change the cheatsenabled var to enable them though...

Edit: also managed to get it the files working in Arma3:
  • Copy files from DayZ/Addons to Arma 3/@DayzSL/Addons
  • Delete these files from Arma 3/@DayzSL/Addons:
    animals.pbo
    anims.pbo
    characters.pbo
    code.pbo
    functions.pbo
    modules.pbo
    modulesCore.pbo
    ui.pbo
    uifonts.pbo
  • Run Arma 3 and enable DayZSL in expansions
  • Restart and open ChernarusPlus in editor

Do not request this build as the general distribution includes cracks that are not permitted on this site. A release will be made soon without the cracked files.

Also I've managed to get custom pbos working and got a debug console up (doesn't seem like it works properly though :/)
To enable custom pbos:
  • backup dayz.exe
  • open in hex editor
  • go to offset 6AB40E
  • change next 57 bytes to 90
    (should have 84 C0 before the 90's and 8D 4D after)
  • save

Now unpack a pbo you want to edit with pbo manager's pboconsole (don't use GUI, it skips some essential data)
e.g. "C:\Program Files\PBO Manager v.1.4 beta\pboconsole.exe" -unpack "C:\DayZ\Addons\code.pbo" "C:\DayZ\Dev\code"
this'll unpack code.pbo to C:\DayZ\Dev\code

Then to repack you just do
"C:\Program Files\PBO Manager v.1.4 beta\pboconsole.exe" -pack "C:\DayZ\Dev\code" "C:\DayZ\Addons\code.pbo"

If you want to enable the debug console:
  • unpack code.pbo somewhere
  • open missions\dayz.ChernarusPlus\init.sqf
  • above the "while {true} do {" line near the bottom add

Can't seem to do much with it though, only things that seem to work are the "Splendid Camera" mode and some "Splendid Animation Viewer", I noticed in the camera mode if you press the numbers on your keyboard the lighting changes :O You can press right mouse to go back to your character.

Edit: figured out how to spawn things:
  • open debug console
  • press on Config to open config editor
  • scroll to CfgVehicles and double click it to expand
  • find what you want to spawn, then press the "Create <whatever>" button
  • object should be spawned at where your looking

It will be released once the backups are all restored and verified, at the moment the restoration of the FTP takes priority.

does anyone know where the character info is stored ?

Works Great .... not that the Alpha is much to play, but the lag every 2 sec made it unplayable .....

Well, this fix is to prevent saving your character to the server every 2 seconds.

Still crash... Give error: Missing steam_api.dll
Where I can find it?
...or what should I do after downloading DayZ (2013-03) (beta).rar

Q: Why there is no installation instruction and even system requirement..?

It is an Alpha ...
... not even a semi stable beta

.... nothing is promised

my exe is 0.14.0.103.280

and the folder came with the Steam.dll

Thanks for replay, but there is nothing like this in my package (maybe because of AV..?) - will try to re-download.

Edit: Nope, re-download didn't help - package on FTP does not include this library (probably because of virus...)

Anyways, I found a simple solution:
- download State Of Decay (beta).
- copy steam_api.dll, steam_appid.txt and 3DMGAME.ini to DayZ folder.
- run the game.

Tip: Don't try to download this library from the web, because it contains a virus

BTW: This alpha is buggy as hell in comparison to the Official Alpha...

Bump! now that the official Alpha has been released on steam, is there any chance we can see some of the same results on the new .exe? such as the custom mods or debug?

I am waiting for the 'stand alone' part to work / be available ....

I ran a private server once they were available ... as the public servers had denigrated into some mutant form of COD

Hi there,

Pulling this thread right out of the graveyard but I happen to have this version of the game and for the past two years I've been trying to work with a few people on building a "DayZ Legacy" type of project, where we can port new content and create a proper DayZ mission for this build without having to gut the engine apart. So far I've done a lot, jets, helis, boats, custom maps, AI missions, and proper zombie spawning all work within this exact build. I know this thread has been dead for 6 years but I'm hoping OP may have more relevant information on these old leaked builds or the roadblocks we're currently facing, or perhaps some people may be interesting in contributing to a project like this?

Cheers and thanks for this thread! Documentation on these builds is extremely sparse.
