"This is a PC alpha version of Warcraft 2 that was sent to the press to be previewed. As it is an alpha version, advanced units are disabled. There are key differences between the alpha and the full release. For instance, there are four resource, including Ore. Also Oil Platforms can be built anywhere. This alpha version helps you see how different Warcraft 2 was from the game we all know. Note that the alpha version is not in any way supported by Blizzard and may not run on all systems."

no, you have to go to the homepage and download the file. If the referer is not from angelfire you are not able to download the file ;)
