I can't imagine why your even given the opportunity to be a member
here after trashing the forums wiki.

Perhaps if you stick around long enough & prove you're not just here to
leach & cause trouble, you will eventually end up with the rights to
accessing the servers.
Otherwise just up it to a file hosting sight like others do.

they shouldn't delete it unless the links are given out to a lot over users. plus there are better hosts than rapidshare. try megashares.com you can use a download manager there

And we had the HL2 beta before we went no-warez. I uploaded it myself, it was removed.

Well, it was removed, and it was a leak. We also had the source-code, I think Flare uploaded that. I can upload it again if Andy agrees, but it was removed for a reason.

Or not. Rapidshare never works for abour 75% of people who try to download from it so we frown upon it here.

Why does Rapidshare not work for you? The only issue I know of is that if you have a shared IP address then if someone else has been using it you will have to wait (they only let your IP download 100 MB every hour or two hours or something like that). You can always use MegaUpload, Mooload etc if you don't like RS.

Rapidshare seems to have some crappy policy about a max transfer per ISP in force. I was behind a transparent proxy (as are a lot of people) but now the ISP removed them and Im not but I still occasionally have the problem where I can't download because Ive reached the limit, even I havent used it. It seems they have a "per ISP" limit in force as well.

I'd rather sell party secrets to Eurasia, willingly contract syphilis, read Goldsteinian propaganda and sleep with a proletariat prostitute than use rapidshare.

The beta would be interesting indeed. However, what advantage does it offer over the final version? Like to see a screenshot though.

the beta, at the time, was very very fun. since the map editor got leaked at the same time there was a lot of custom stuff made for it. Also over 1000 uncompiled maps got leaked which contained all of hl2 as well as hl2:ep1 levels, and maps that were cut. heaps of extra weapons (some werid, some are coming to ep2) and enemies.

early versions of hl:source and cs:source were leaked as well (css looked like 1.5 with nice water at this stage). the source code also contained team fortress 2 code.
