Teh forumz is borked.

I can't stay logged in unless I select "auto-login" which I don't want to do on a public computer.

Tried clearing cookies and whatnot.

Cheers!

Its a cookie and/or auth session issue. Clearing them will make it work, guaranteed. If you're using a nightly build of FF, that could also be why. Some people have experienced issues.

Moved to site feedback and subject renamed to something a little more descriptive.

It could be a firewall/anti-virus conflict, try temporarily disabling them.

I don't have any. Not even the windows doodar.

When I log in, it doesn't stay logged in. If I log in and ask it to log me in everytime automatically I can make one post, but then logs me out again.

Are you using the .co.uk domain or one of the others? Either way it shouldn't matter though.

What is your OS? Perhaps its an OS bug if you're using a beta.

Yeah, I'm using .co.uk.

I'm on Win7 7127, so I guess it could be that. However it was working fine yesterday!

Try using IE and see if that works. If it affects all browsers then it has to be a system issue. The site configuration hasn't been changed in months and I'm not having issues, nor is anyone else.

I get this problem occasionally, clearing my cache always solves it...

Maybe that public location has an load balancer, if so, session 1 goes to ip a, session 2 (initiated by clicking on login) goes to ip b and session 3 (when login is succesfull) goes to IP a. I got the same issue at my school because of the load balancer we got there.

Thats a good point. The session is checked via IP for security purposes and it will log you out if the IP doesn't match the same one as your session. It's to stop from cookie theft from being performed and successfully gaining access to your account. It's something I never thought of as it doesn't affect 99.9% of people!

I've noticed that if I use osba.co.uk it logs me out nearly instantly after I've logged in, but is fine with betaarchive.co.uk. :D

That's because the forums configured for a betaarchive domain, not some redirect from another site

Actually it will work with any domain pointed to the site properly, and osba.co.uk is, he probably just has a bad cookie. It does work because I've tried it myself. The only cause of these problems is a bad cookie, so I suggest clearing them and restarting your browser. Then it will work.

- Clear ALL betaarchive domain cookies
- Clear your AUTH sessions
- Restart your browser
- Login again, all will be fine

If its not, then you have firewall/anti-virus/anti-spyware software stopping your cookies working properly and you have to disable it or add an exception.

Also consider rebooting your modem if you have a Dynamic IP (one that changes) to completely "flush" your connection.

Works for me on a good day

It can help since the forum authorises against the IP as well as session cookies but i've never seen it not work by erasing the cookies.

Okay, I will try them later and see if it works or not. If it still happens, it could be my computer or the anti-virus/firewall program.

If you're accessing the site via betaarchive.com, use betaarchive.co.uk.

Too late at night for me to explain why. Cookies and y'all

You obviously didn't clear the cookies properly then, as it works perfectly fine on all sites. osbetaarchive.co.uk isn't even programmed into the forum in any way at all, so its not a misconfiguration problem.

In IE7 I went, Tools > Delete Browsing History > Delete Cookies.
