I think that it might be a good idea to have:

- Windows Vista & 7
- Windows XP, MCE,
- Windows 2000 (and NT's)
- Windows ME, 98, 95
-older

You see this on a lot of other forums to, and it's (I think) a lot more clear.

I don't like the idea of splitting it up at all but if it was going to be split up I would say put 2 categories:

new: current newest and future
old: xp and back

As I said I really think its fine right now though.

There's not enough posting to make extra forums a necessity. It's fine as it is, the only effect of adding more forums at the moment would be more work for the mods, when people just feel the need to post in the wrong forum.

No one wants a forum with too many sections, makes posting a pain in the ass.
There's already what, 27?

Or maybe he didn't feel the need to censor it?
I suggest firstly, that you read the post, and think about it before replying. Some of your recent posts seem to show that you don't.
I'd also suggest you leave what should be censored to the admins, they're quite capable.

I think it's fine like it is. Unless maybe a separate section for Longhorn related stuff but there's not even enough post to warrant that.

Doesnt seem like a bad idea but then again its completely unnecessary.A combined section is perfectly fine and reduces problems like the ones mentioned above

When first logging on to any forum, the new post button is what I press within
seconds anyway, makes no difference to me, as most probably would.
And if I need to find a particular reference, the amount of subsections wont make
a zac of difference to the search feature, so why make so many more subsections?

OK, i'm reiterating what one or two above have said. There are loads of forums as it is. Splitting up the MS OS forum won't really do much favours really, as that's not going to do much, apart from add less space, and then if it is split, someone's got to go put all the old topics in one or either.

Really, it's fine as it is, and information can be found in it. It doesn't need chaning.

There we go, my opinion out and sorted.
