From what I've seen recently Bender is locking legit bumps in topics.

The rules state...

Quote:
Old Topics
5a. The bringing up of topics over 30 days is allowed if the reply is worthy and contains valuable information that can be used.

It's getting a tad annoying

I saw this earlier today, but I didn't want to say anything.

Considering that it's been brought up, it's kind of disconcerting...

I'm busy right now ___ but if you go thru some of the recently locked topics by Bender you'd see some of them had contributing info in them...

Some threads you can't lock due to bumps... can't explain but there is some youjust cant..

EDIT: ie. if the "welcome" thread wasnt stickied, you wouldnt lock it

The ones he locked I would have locked as well, so he isn't "breaking" the rules in any way at all. Some people may disagree but in my eyes he is doing his job properly. Anyway, he's only locked 3 topics in the last 2 days so I hardly think he's closing loads anyway...

So your saying you'd lock old threads with legit posts?

:^)

No, I'm saying the topics he locked he did legitimately. Someone replied after 30 days and the reply was not useful, thus it was locked.

there is alot of spam in the past days, locking the topic is the right thing done.

Heh. Don't think I'm being funny, but I've never had to lock a topic (except ones I posted and didn't intend to be repied to) yet on my forum ("The Resonator"), and it's been up since September.

I was just pointing it out, because I found it amusing.

If a topic becomes old, then why shouldn't it be locked anyway? Every time I've seen an old topic that has been replied to, it's been locked because it was inappropriate to do, or something.

In the case of that page that you locked, that is linked to on this topic, someone saying that they, too, have an illness, while not adding to the quality of the BetaArchive comminuty, is appropriate to the conversation.
