I've just noticed that Theme Park is still for sale on GOG:

https://www.gog.com/game/theme_park

So I have to ask: is it really abandonware? Or is this different? The demos should be okay (I'll get to those when I have a chance).

Edit: I did see this after I made this post, but I'm a little confused as to what 'The title may not be sold in any stores or supported in any way. This applies to that particular title and not variants of it, such as GoG releases etc.' means. Does this mean that it's abandonware if it's no longer available in a brick and mortar store or the developer's/publisher's online store, regardless of other forms of availability?

GOG releases of older titles are often modified to support newer systems (fixed incompatibilities), they may include extra patches or content (though this is rare). And of course, copy-protection/DRM is removed.

So it's technically a different release than the original.

I thought GOG releases of DOS games were basically just the game with DOSBox pre-configured for it? Do even DOS games sometimes have changes from the original release? (I don't have any GOG DOS games so I wouldn't know for certain).

I would assume any DRM measures in DOS games would be removed for GOG releases as well.
