BA has more releases than any other collection site (WinWorld, Archive.org and ect.) and it would be hard to backup 140 TB of stuff. I think the chance for all hard drives to become corrupted is slim.

The real problem is what if BA shutdown, well that will never happen because the admins want to keep it running. Who have the power to shut down a big site like BA when the admins want to keep it running (apart from too much server cost or too much spamming).

I don't think it is necessary to mirror the FTP.

They do have local backups, this question was more about what if they were forced to shut it down

We need an alternate FTP server with the same files on here and access being free!

It won't happen.

It won't happen unless the admins want to sell BA and some rich person would like to buy it for a few million USD and make the FTP accessible to everyone. The chances of that happening is approaching zero.

We are getting quite offtopic, we are talking about what will happen to the collection, not mirroring the FTP. If this site shuts down, I am sure Andy and mrpijey will not let all those rare artifacts disappear forever. It is impossible for this site to get forced to shut down because we are dealing with abandonware. The definition of abandonware is Although such software is usually still under copyright, the owner may not be tracking copyright violations which means the owner won't (be likely to) care about it being uploaded and we are perfectly safe. At the end of the day, mrpijey and Andy gets to decide the future of this collection if they decide to shut BA down, so why should we care :P ?

This guy is just looking for a quick way to get access to the FTP data without contributing anything, nothing else.

@Ssj754KDylan We tire easily of people who try to get around our policies, so either follow the guidelines and contribute something to get access like everyone else or show yourself out (or we'll do it for you).
