I've noticed lately a bunch of new "discoveries" being delivered on the forums of possible leaks, screenshots, and news about delays or schedule changes about the next release of Microsoft Windows. However, most of these come with unreliable sources. Some topics are saying we'll get Windows 7 early, but then I see "Not until this year."

I think some users need to realize that they won't see major leaks or information regarding to Windows 7 for a long while now. I mean, geesh, right after XP came out, Vista wasn't exactly out and about for a while. I mean, Longhorn was out there, but in reality, it was simply Microsoft testing out changing their Explorer layouts and hacking its GUI themes, but Windows XP didn't see much change until Longhorn was officially titled "Vista" in 2006.

So I'm not sure what exactly should be done. I think it would be best that before information about Windows 7 is posted in the forums that it has to be "Okayed" by a moderator or you through PM in order to be genuine news.

Troy

P.S. If this should be in a different forum (such as Site Suggestions), then go ahead and move it. Don't make a punch of spam posts relating to so, the moderators know what they are doing...lol

You're making a lot of sense Troy, I think we do need to separate "this just in from the rumor mill" from news with respected or likely sources.

I've changed the topic name so people don't see it and think "wow, new Windows 7 discoveries!"

Their sources. Most of us expert computer users can detect whether it's real or not. I mean, I could go into photoshop right now or even hack Windows Vista's Build number to be 6005 or something like that and call it a discovery, but that's not going to get us anywhere.

And I also appreciate the topic name change. I made it be "Windows 7 Discoveries" for the mere purpose of insulting people for finding rumors. lol

@troyoda1990, "Most of us expert computer users can detect whether it's real or not" thats right, we can, so if the post is bogus, then lock it , you guys worry about nothing.
