The screenshots section is pure gold as far as I'm concerned, a great part of the site. But I have a couple of small issues with it and I want to know if it's by choice or simply convenience. The images open in the same frame as the lists which wrecks havoc when you're going back in the browser and you "lose" your location which means that you'll have to scroll up or down to find your place in the list again.

It's nothing major but has there been any thoughts about it? There are tons of php-solutions out there that handles it just fine with basic functions like thumbnails, albums etc. I can recommend Gallery2, it's very easy to set up and has worked just fine for my personal gallery here at home. And it looks purty too. ;)

Gallery2 is absolutely awful and is a very high resource hog.

I am working on a new solution as it happens as the current one is annoying to say the least.

Another question: Is there a possibility to add some sort of navigation to the gallery? E.g. when I look at a screenshot and want to look at the next one in the same gallery, I have to close the window and open the next picture manually; this would be much more convenient with Back/Forward buttons.

Haven't noticed that Gallery2 is a resourcehog, but then again I'm not serving tons of people hundreds of images. :)

Looking forward to see a better gallery.

Maybe phpGallery? It works fine for me...

However, it might just be a better idea to edit the current system, especially as its well integrated with the forum :)

A friend of mine is working on a script for me which should mean you can also paste a link to the particular gallery you want to show someone as well.

EG the link will be: http://www.betaarchive.co.uk/screenshot ... alleryname

I hope thats how we will do it anyway.

Maybe 4images?

I don't like the open-in-same-popup links. If you already have a screenshot popup open, gallery forces the new screenshot to open on the same popup. (Edited 26/Nov/2009)

I'm still working on this idea. I might do away with the pop-up all together, I don't know yet. Ideas are still floating around.

Just to let everyone know the new gallery is online. You can now link to galleries using the URL bar and the iFrame is gone :)

A great workaround is putting the image name as popup ID.

A new gallery is online, but the pop-up function is still there since it works so well.
