I've had similar problems with JPEG files, for me it was something to do with mime-types.
Try some other sites, bildr.no seems to be a good test, and upload it and see if it works there, if it doesn't then it's your browser settings.

And you should probably convert that image to a link, it breaks the tables.

Usual cause for this is a corrupted image file. Open it in your favourite editor and save it as a different name and try uploading that. It will most likely work.
