So I was bored at work, and noticed there were a lot of seldom used forums on here, and alot of categories with one forum, which I thought was a bit daft. This will probably get completely ignored, but this is my proposal for a new structure. If anyone else thinks its a good idea and will tidy the forum up, please do let me know :)

Its organised like..

>Category
>>Forum
[Forum's caption thing]
>>Forum 2
[Forum 2's caption thing]

etc...

Code:
>Announcements and News
>>Forum Rules
>>Announcements
>>General News
>>Releases
Information on new releases can be posted here for discussion and download.

>General Discussion
>>General Discussion (Offtopic Discussions)
[General discussions about anything not computer related can be posted here.  Please try to keep it clean.]
>>Computer Discussion (General Beta chat)
[Anything computer related that doesn't fit into any of the other categories can be posted here, beta or not.]
>>Jokes & Funny Stuff (Jokes)
>>Site Feedback (Site Suggestions/Problems)
[Problem with the site?  Got a suggestion?  Post here, and the staff will

respond.]
>>Tutorials and Guides (Tutorials)
>>Trading Forum (Sell/Buy/Trade/eBay)
[Got something to sell?  Seen something good on eBay?  Want to buy stuff?  Post here]

>Technical Discussion
>>Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows Discussion)
[Discuss any Microsoft OS here, Beta or not, from DOS to Vienna.]
>>Apple Operating Systems (Mac OSX Discussion)
[Discuss any Apple OS here, Beta or not, from Rhapsody to OS X.]
>>*nix & Other Operating Systems (Linux Discussion)
[Discuss any *nix, Linux, or any other Operating System here.]
>>Game Betas (Game BETA Discussion)
 [Discuss any Game Betas here.]
>>Customisation *new*
[Discuss customisation of your Operating System here.]
>>Custom Operating Systems (Custom OS Discussion)
[Discuss any custom operating systems here, get feedback and ideas, get help with problems, etc.]

>Support Section
>>Hardware Support
[Get support with your hardware, new builds, upgrades, etc.]
>>Software Support (Operating Systems Support)
[Need help with your software?  OS crashed?  Post in here]

>Downloads Section
>>Download Requests/Offers
[Have something to offer?  Missing something from your collection?  Post here.
(Note - Users with  less than 10 posts will be ignored)]
>>Public Servers (LIFT 10-POST LIMIT, SINCE THEY ARE PUBLIC ANYWAY)
[Found a good public server?  Don't mind allowing everyone to use your server?  Post the details here.]
>>Private Servers
[Set up a server for BetaArchive users?  Post the details in here!
(Note - Only 'Advanced Members' can access this forum - see the rules)

----------------------------
Not on list:

Hardware Discussion - Merge into Computer Discussion
Old Stickies - If theyre old, unpin and forget about?
Application Support - Merge into Software Support
Web Design/Programming Support - Merge into Software Support
Other Support - Move topics accordingly
Other OS Discussion - Merge into *nix and Other Beta Operating Systems
Open Servers - Merge into Public Servers - theyre essentially the same thing
Out of Service Servers - I propose an OSBA-style system where working servers

are pinned, non-working ones are un-pinned.

Also, rename 'Members' group to 'Advanced Members' - makes more sense.

That sounds like a very good idea :D, it may also mean that people will post in the correct section

Koptor is right, a rearrangement is in order, but lets see what the mods think and other members too before we go changing anything.

Right, now that it's done, I think it's substantially better than the old layout. :D

Glad everyone agrees because it would be hell putting it back!
