I've noted, that while downloading Longhorn Build 4074 and scrolling through the file list, I saw that Vista RTM was available as a 4 gigabyte download.

If it's a Vista RTM, it would probably contain the Build 6000 number, and wouldn't that be considered warez?

Sorry for any misunderstandings that may arrise from my own.

Also, I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong forum.

This is most certainly warez. Where did you find it?

I found it on Andy's Abyss Underground Server FTP server. Where all the Longhorn and Whistler betas were - On hard disk 1, I believe.

I didn't download the file for myself, given its immense size, but it seemed to the be the 32/64 bit Vista RTM DVD.

True, but if it's RTM, then it doesn't really classify as a beta. I can understand Build 5840, which is technically a beta (no matter how complete it seemed) and therefore valid. But Vista RTM on a beta/"abandonware" server seems a bit fishy.

No doubt, one can install it without a product key, but apparently such Microsoft's digital rights management for Vista has already been "circumvented", so to speak.

Edit: I've been reading the thread in the private forum. I understand now why this file is on the server. Please close this topic; it's just a matter of personal misunderstanding. Forgive me for my lapses.
