Hello all,

Just to let you know that since I lost my job, I thought it would be a good idea to keep the server renewed 1 month in advance incase funds aren't in my bank in time from donations/paypal transfers that could result in the server going offline.

I have put a display on the donate page displaying when the server is "safe" until, this should stay 1 month into the future at most times. I will continue to renew it as normal, but for now its safe 1 month further into the future than normal.

This doesn't mean you have to stop donating! :) I still need the donations to keep the server running. My government allowance is £46 a week, of which £35 of it is spent before I even got it on lodge and car insurance. I then need money to fuel the car too which is often £10 a week... That leaves me with £1... £1!!!

I can't do it without you guys anymore until I get a job, so keep the site going, please!

Andy (Admin)

What do you need per month for the server?

Probably best to pay it in advance where possible though..

If you go http://betaarchive.co.uk/donate.php it tells you the cost for that month, the percentage donated for that month, and, I believe, the percentage of all time donated vs. cost as of that month.

Yes it does sum up how bad it is for me money wise which is why I decided to make the server paid for a month ahead in case anything should go wrong. I don't want the server to go offline so this precaution had to be taken.

The server has been renewed and is safe until: 28th April 2008.

"

NOOOO! The server shut down a year ago! ... Why am I still here?

I was just joking. Just saying you put the year wrong.

No I didn't... 8-) :P Changed. I've had a habit of doing that recently when I've been typing letters referring court stuff from last year. Lots of 2008 dates to write.

Hi Andy,

On behaf of my company, i would like to extend a hand in the form of offering you and BA a permanent solution to the problem by offering you a free 1TB VM hosting on a our cluster - this means that Pite Hosting would become a permanent sponsor for BA and all donations could go to helping you thru this hard time.

I want you closely consider this as an option and drop us a mail on mail @ pitehosting .com

Wow that sounds great! BA is getting sponsors!

Only 1 pound per week. That's not much. Can't you find another job, or a job that gives you just some more money? (What about being sever administrator or website disigner? I'm sure you're going to be good if you would have that job, just look at BA!)

We're in the middle of a recession, getting a job isn't as easy as it sounds. Web designers aren't in high demand because nobody is employing people to do any design at all. Its a dead-end as far as any design work is concerned. I might get the odd freelance job but nothing permanent.
