Hello all,

The rules have been simplified (by request of a lot of members). There are few subsections and the rules get to the point, and also no repetitions.

Post your comments, questions, etc.

Thanks, good work :) Few small things:

Quote:
You may not reply to any topic older than than 3 days where you are the author and it has had no replies (also known as bumping).

I thought this was allowed previously? Maybe say there is a limit of 1 or 2 times.

You may not reply to a post older than 30 days or more.

"...unless you have worthwhile information to add"? (if we're keeping the meaning of the rules the same)

All content on the forum must be written in the English language

"English" should be capitalised :)

I'm just wondering what this rule means exactly:

Quote:
- You may not reply to any post identified as spam.

Does that mean we can't reply to a post that says "COOL!" and say this was a pointless post, or what exactly is the intent? lol.

Other than that, a very well done job! Thank you very much! 8) [/quote]

Definitions are coming soon, they're still being prepared.

Awesome. I'm glad to see the rules will be an ongoing project to be much clearer and descriptive than before!

They're not the only changes either. The FTP is well on its way to being re-organised too. Other changes will follow.

Apart from the draconian rules surrounding use of the proprietary Image uploading service they all seem like common sense...

I think that "may" has to be with "can", since new users will be confused and chances are, will break the rules anyway.

There is a big difference between "may" and "can". I specifically chose that word so people won't twist it since the meaning of "may" is much narrower than "can". For example, you MAY argue about this point, meaning that you are allowed to (in contrast to you MAY NOT = not allowed to). If I had typed "you CAN" argue about this point then I am simply stating a fact that you can do it, whether it's allowed or not. You can eat a banana regardless if you like like it or not, since humans can eat bananas. However you MAY NOT eat a banana, i.e I don't allow you to eat it even if you want to.

Of course some will say that "may" and "can" means the same thing, but I think "may" is not only a more proper word for this kind of text, but also a word that allows less of personal intepretation.

Please prove me wrong and I'll adjust it :).

You're right, the section will be adjusted to "threatening a member of getting the topic locked etc.".
