Hello all,

As you are no doubt aware, there have been some rule changes on the forum (everyone should have had an e-mail about it).

You can see the changes on http://www.betaarchive.co.uk/forum/view ... 3196#63196.

If anyone has any comments, questions or indeed arguments about the changes, please feel free to post them here.

Andy (Admin)

Thanks, I've been waiting for this already.
Now people just have to put it into action...

Good rule change, as some were getting annoying.

This is getting very immature. WildEye, PM people if you have private issues with them.

This rule should not have needed to be implemented, but under the circumstances it was a good decision, and should have gone without needing to be said.

In my opinion, signatures should contain no images and be limited to 150-300 chars, with maximum one [enter] break. By default the font of sigs should be smaller than in posts and in different colour (something dark-gray would be great with this layout propably)... Oh and i would block all HTML and BBCode tags in them, excluding only the URL tag...

Yes! Another pointless rule because a couple of users have to have massive sigs. 8-)

I think It's a great idea

I find that big distracting signatures make reading the posts harder

Is rule 12 necessary (or is that neccessary - lol).
Who is the judge, in these instances, of bad spelling and grammar.
English is not the language of my domicile, and quite a lot of well educated contributers around the world would still have difficulty handling that rule to avoid being banned.
In this thread alone, I have counted 9 instances of (not politically correct) English and 11 spelling mistakes. When do those "offenders" reach the criteria of being "repeat offenders"?
This is no a schoolroom, although sometimes the posts would lead one to that conclusion.
In my own case my really low quality typing would completely supersede any trivial spelling or grammar mistakes.

Great!!!
When I first got into BA, my laptop had a 800*600 resolution. It was a pain on the neck to read the posts sometimes because I also had to scroll laterally (because of the signatures).
Great!
(now I use 1400*900 xd)
anyway... Better this way

Correct, but also so people use correct capital letters or not type in all capital letters, because paragraphs with no full stops, or all lower case and no regard for its presentation is just pure laziness and nobody should have to put up with what you have written. If you have taken the time and effort to read and contribute to the forum, I'm sure you can use a little extra effort making sure people can understand and read what you're talking about.
