It won't. Spam is frowned upon remember. It'll simply get deleted. 750 posts of spam isn't hard to spot :)

Neither Norton or McAfee

You just quoted the worlds two worst scanners EVER.

AVG or NOD32 for teh win.

Norton and McAfee slow down machines so slow they start to go backwards half the time. Only this week Norton 360 killed a machines system files just by installing it! A few weeks ago McAfee stopped a machine from being usable until 10 minutes after it booted up.

 True. I recently had to set up a Core 2 Duo notebook with 2GB of RAM and wondered why it was so surprisingly slow. Well, Norton 360 preinstalled. Uninstalled that after confirming a gazillion times and now it's adequate, even on Vista.

I find Norton very very slow on Vista, is it the program or was my computer too slow.

Wow, that's insane! :o Such a shame that there's probably a lot of people out there with really high-spec machines like that who don't experience anything like what such a PC can offer because it's got that all that junk preinstalled on it :( I set up a Vista laptop for someone recently too and thought it felt a bit slow, found it had Norton (not 360 though, just Norton Slow Basic rather than Norton Ultimate Slow) preinstalled, as well as a whole load of Acer crap (I know, Acer eurrgh, sadly they'd already bought it before I could warn them off Acer after my experience with their terrible laptops).

I'd say it's the program by 95%, and the remaining 5% are filled by a generally slow computer. :) Norton really is slow as hell.

Yep. It was the Vaio SZ I've already mentioned, by the way. And Sony is known to fill their machines with all kinds of necessary (due to their fiddling with hardware) and unnecessary software, like trials of Office and stuff. As much as I like the Sony rigs, especially a certain incredibly small one (), the fact they seem to always come preinstalled with that junk annoys me.

PC-Cillin is up there as well when it comes to slowing a machine down to a snails pace.

Avast is OK too I find as far as free versions go.
