Hello all,

At some point today or tomorrow I will be repartitioning the server so it makes it easier to access files my end and also makes it less cluttered. I also have to do this as the current partition is running out of space.

I hope that it will not take too long (e.g no longer than 1 hour). I will display an offline page for the duration of the work. After the change you may find some things do not work, for example the graphs. This will be fixed ASAP.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.

If you have questions/comments please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi all,

The repartitioning is now complete. Sorry it took so long. I came across a few unexpected problems while trying to merge the partitions together. I'll explain...

I have 3 hard disks in the server, 40gb, 80gb and 200gb. I had a very bad arrangement of partitions, with 3 on the 40gb, the 80gb on its own and the 200gb having 3. The plan was to merge all the 40gb partitions into one and all the 200gb partitions into one. This sounds cool, and easy. Except its not. Partition magic doesn't like merging drives. So I worked around it. I copied all vital data to the 80gb drive and then deleted the partitions on the other drives, wiping its data. I then created one partition an made it the size of the drive. Easy. However it took hours to copy the 70gb of data from one drive to the other, repartition, format and then move the files back again. I expected it to take around 1 hour, it's taken well over 3 hours.

What a life I have as an Admin eh... :)

Still, the site is back up now, thats all that matters. However it does seem we may have lost the 100Mbps server forever, and that deeply saddens me :(

But! BA WILL live on (even if it is slow ;) )
