Hello all,

The forum may be running a little slower than usual due to another website I host is under a DOS attack from a script kiddie n00b. They can't even take the site down but they have slowed it down considerably. You may notice lots of CPU spikes because of this.

I hope to have the situation solved soon.

Andy (Admin)

Since they're not able to take the site down, I would assume it's unrelated to the attempt to take down several DNS root servers earlier.

Do you have some info about this script kiddie?

ppc_digger - I only heard about that DNS root server story yesterday, though for a while before I heard about it many sites were noticably slower to respond... anyone else notice that?

Andy - Skiddies [censored] me off, I know of a particular little idiot who has a botnet at his disposal and he's the most arrogant, irritating, obnoxious... err... yeah, I hate skiddies. :)

So that's why it was running slow...

Easy way to fix it: null route the other site temporarily :D

But yeah, its fixed, and you probably did that anyway...

Yes I did do this. I shut down its VHOST so its requests were ignored.

DoS is easy, skiddies should be able to write their own software like their uncle Andrew
