Volkswriter 1.2 128k
Released in 1983
For DOS
Image Quality: Used
Volkswriter, from Lifetree Software Inc, was an early easy to use
word processor for the IBM PC. Development of Volkswriter was
inspired by the horridness of EasyWriter, and for a brief time it was
possibly the only usable word processor for the IBM PC before an IBM
version of WordStar was released.
This version is for IBM PC computers with 128K of RAM. This version
is compatible with IBM PC-DOS 1.0 and IBM PC-DOS 1.1.
The Volkswriter 1.2 package shipped with the "64K" version, which has
separate Editor and Printer modes. They would mail you the 128k
version when you sent in your registration card. The 128k version
combines these. The 128k version will still run on a 64k system, but
has much less memory available to hold documents.
Archive includes one 5.25" 160k floppy disk image. Note: This disk is
formatted for DOS 1.x and may not open in tools like WinImage.
